His journey brought him from the ultra-modern streets of Kuala Lumpur to the charming back lanes of George Town and all the way to the urban avenues of Johor Baru.
“The trip to Penang was quite memorable. Not only did I get to interview potential candidates, but I also got to eat and sample the famous Penang hawker food. That was a very special experience,” Franscilla shares.
Throughout his travels, the chef had one lofty ambition in mind: to locate amazing homegrown chefs who can do justice to authentic Malaysian cuisine.
“The thing about Malaysia is that it’s a melting pot of many great cultures and recipes. There’s a slight influence from other Asian countries in the food.
